The Other Things - Welding

My main focus of this website is just to give people a better look at who I am. Most of what's on here will probably focus on my I.T. journey, but that is not all I am good at.

Before I took my deep dive into I.T. last year, I was just a welder. I went to trade school for that and did the full years. Well, almost two years. At some point during the swapping of Instructors, someone forgot to tell me I had to take a class in Computer Skills and Job Seeking Skills. That frustrated me because I could have probably taught the Computer class, and I already had a decent job.

So I did not get my two year degree, and have recently learned that the classes I took do not carry over to the University I was just accepted into. That was super awesome to learn, considering my GPA is still sitting at a HUGE 1.9, but that is a story for another day. I am just rambling now.

I stayed working at Office Depot as a Manager during my trade school days, as well as doing monthly drills in the Marine Corps Reserves. I moved on and worked for Geek Squad for a bit then found my way into Welding. So I welded for some time, applied for a few positions as a Supervisor, Maintenance and IT. I was shot down by all of them. With the wind out of my sails, I decided to look else where and have since given up welding as a career.

There was a brief moment where I was able to combine Welding and I.T. at my new job. I was put over a trial period to test out a robotic welder from Vectis. It was super awesome, but unfortunately upper management decided it was not in our best interest. So that project died.
